This video was filmed by Charbax at http://ARMdevices.net at the CeBIT 2010 consumer electronics show in Hannover, Germany.
Firstview Electronic HK Limited is showing what may be one of the worlds cheapest laptops, it runs Android on a low cost and low power VIA 8505 ARM based 533Mhz processor, with 128MB RAM, 2GB Nand flash, 7″ 800×480 screen, WiFi, SD card reader, 3G dongle support. It’s supposed to run 4 hours on a 2100mah battery, it loads websites slower than a more expensive computer, but it can be made for only $65 in the Chinese factories when ordered by big resellers in large quantities.

SmartQ V7 Running Gnash(FLASH) in midori. Tthe flash advertisements are shown, even youtube.com, video.google.com, flash online games and I don’t know what else, is running – BUT it is choppy, slow, video suffer slide or no rendering, the CPU is at 100% because if you are watching website with many flash advertisements, there will be each gnash process running for each flash content.
The Flash-player from Adobe for ARM devices (ver 10.1) will be released in October 2010, and I was not able to run the beta version in midori. So I decided to try GNASH (Gnash is not an abbreviation or an acronym. It uses the ‘Gn’ from GNU and the ‘ash’ from Flash, and describes what our teeth are doing when we can’t play flash files on our favourite platforms without installing proprietary software.).

The desktop replacement is heavy, large, and designed for heavy gaming and cpu and memory intensive applications and is not designed to be carried around in a backpack or any other type of sack.
A notebook is a little smaller and lighter and is around 4-6 pounds. This is the average laptop seen in stores for around 400 -700 dollars. It’s a little slower but it has all the funcionality of a desktop replacement (which is expensive).
A netbook is light at around 1.5 – 3 pounds and is designed for internet surfing but can do a lot of other things such as light gaming, video editing, etc.
A smartbook is small, compact, weak, and energy efficiant and above all EXTREMELY CHEAP. around 100 dollars for the cheapest windows CE versions and basically runs the most basic of built in applications and often uses arm processors.
