In this video, I review the HP Mini 1035NR that I unboxed in a previous video. When it comes to netbooks, it’s really hard to go wrong. Almost all of the netbooks out there have very similar specifications. It really comes down to aesthetics and what’s important to you. For some, disk space is more imporant than a nice keyboard, while some may prefer a longer battery life over everything. The HP Mini does not disappoint. The keyboard is outstanding and I’ve already gotten used to its size. HP did a great job of squeezing an almost full sized keyboard into a small form factor. Since I’m splitting hairs, the look and feel of the HP mini stands out as my favorite. While I do want better battery life and a less glossy screen, they are relatively minor in the grand scheme of things. Overall I’m very pleased with the HP Mini 1035NR and I’ll gladly recommend it to anyone in the netbook market. Enjoy.

Megawhat were at the launch of the new Toshiba NB200, or the UX as it’s known in Japan. An update to their Netbook line up with a full size keyboard, long battery life, Intel Atom processor and a very up market finish Toshiba have kicked it up a notch.

This is more of a real world performance review. Netbooks main goal is supposed to get you up and running as fast as possible. So thats why in this performance review I decided to put Firefox webbrowser, 2 text files, and a word document in windows startup folder. This is pretty much a typical scenario of what people want to do after opening a netbook.
Netbook Configs:

intel x25-m SSD Drive
intel N280 Processor
All things to launch at startup:
1 Microsoft Word file
2 text documents
Firefox webbrowser
Windows Live Messenger
Microsoft Security Essential
ASUS EEE Super hybrid engine
Synaptics Pointing device
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile
And this test shows how fast this ASUS 1005HA netbook can do this with an intel x25-m SSD drive.
And this netbook performed excellently. It opened all the files and applications in under 1 minute.
