This is a worlds first video-review of an ARM9 Powered Android Laptop, the PWS700CA by Shenzhen based Hivision, find more info at: http://hvsco.com/ProductsView.asp?articleid=789
It is based on a Rockchip RK2808 600mhz ARM926 processor, 128SDRAM, 7" 800×480 screen, 720p Video playback support, WiFi, Ethernet, audio input/output and weights only 650grams.
The price has not yet been announced officially because Hivision is looking for worldwide distributors of this product, who will then decide how much it will be sold for to end consumers. But you can understand that if Hivision was able to sell those types of laptops for $98 more than a year ago http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKQbN6tpYXw,then surely the price has not gone up since then, at least if you consider what might be the manufacturing costs when this Laptop would be mass manufactured. My guess is that if a giant consumer electronics retailer like Amazon, Walmart or Best Buy approached Hivision to order high quantities of this laptop, it could be sold even below $99 to end users.

This may be one of the best implementations of Android on an ARM Powered Laptop so far, HP is showing off their masterful customized Android user interface for the ARM Cortex A8 Qualcomm Snapdragon based laptop form factor. It has great automatic standby and resume, connected standby, and a range of customized high resolution Android applications, widgets and even hardware Search, Home/Menu/Back buttons on the super well made design.

Hivision which I filmed in a very popular video from IFA 2008: http://youtube.com/watch?v=bKQbN6tpYXw have worked very hard to port Android to their latest ARM9 based 7″ mini Laptops. They offer an extremely impressive fast and Android integration, with a surprisingly fast Android web browser over WIFi and Ethernet. The price for the laptop at retail could be $149, more or less, it depends on the distributors.

SmartQ V7 Running Gnash(FLASH) in midori. Tthe flash advertisements are shown, even youtube.com, video.google.com, flash online games and I don’t know what else, is running – BUT it is choppy, slow, video suffer slide or no rendering, the CPU is at 100% because if you are watching website with many flash advertisements, there will be each gnash process running for each flash content.
The Flash-player from Adobe for ARM devices (ver 10.1) will be released in October 2010, and I was not able to run the beta version in midori. So I decided to try GNASH (Gnash is not an abbreviation or an acronym. It uses the ‘Gn’ from GNU and the ‘ash’ from Flash, and describes what our teeth are doing when we can’t play flash files on our favourite platforms without installing proprietary software.).
