2 Newegg Review: Sony VAIO E Series Notebookhttp://www.newegg.com

The Sony VAIO E-Series notebooks come in a wide variety of configurations; our sample model sported a 2.13 Ghz Intel Core i3 330M CPU, a 500GB 5400 RPM mechanical hard drive and a Blu-Ray combo drive for multimedia purposes.

The E-Series holds up well as a mid-range laptop. The screen size, speedy CPU and Blu-Ray/HDMI-out combo make it an ideal fit as a mobile multimedia machine. The dimensions and weight, while not as portable as a netbook, are still easily transported to class or work on a regular basis. The battery life was a bit lacking, but did play back a full-screen video for just over 3 hours — which isn’t too bad for a 15.5″ screen.

Finally, customization and configuration options mean that there’s an E-Series to fit just about anyone. Whether you prefer AMD or Intel, or any variety of colors, there’s an E-Series that will suit your needs.

    @bigstingman That’s true but I myself will do all the serious gaming on my rig at home
    but when in away traveling of whatever valve has a great collection of games alon with WOW starcraft and a few more games. I would sacrifice the performance for a lighter skinner stronger battery laptop.

    Great review just keep them coming. Review some cool new net-books please. Love you guys at Newegg.

    @tallandme13 LOL, …
    @tallandme13 LOL, exactly. Alot of reviewers on major sites have that getting-over-excited-over-nothing habit. Then, the readers will have false impressions and spend their hard-earned money over an undeserving product.

    LOL that CPU is …
    LOL that CPU is even bigger than you man! XD

  • bigstingman says:

    @lil0egy0kid Oh …
    @lil0egy0kid Oh yeah it was a VM lol. On bootcamp games do run, but it is kind of annoying to keep two separate partitions. I use my computer mostly for gaming. Thus I would mostly be in Windows, defeating the purpose of having OSX at all. Not only that, but a macbook pro just isn’t the same as my GTX 470 lol. Course that’s comparing Apples and oranges now…Each their own.

    I …

    @EddieLolz3r
    I ordered an H50 from Tiger direct. My first and last purchase.
    IT took forever to get here
    the box was beat up
    there was nothing to protect the product just the product jumping around in a giant box
    The product box was damaged
    The fins on the radiator were damaged…
    NEVER AGAIN. I will always stick to newegg even if TD is having a sale.

    Are …

    @bigstingman
    Are you sure you were running in bootcamp? Because everything runs in bootcamp just like if you were on a PC exactly. You sure it was not through a virtual machine?

    And yah I can get an OEM version of Home Premium forgot about that!

  • bigstingman says:

    @lil0egy0kid …
    @lil0egy0kid Running games in boot camp doesn’t seem to cut it for me. I have tried it on my bro’s macbook. It’s pretty unresponsive…I am happy about Steam coming to mac though! The only problem is that the only good games on mac steam are from Valve. They have some good games, but it’s a limited list relative to PC game library. You can pick up Win 7 for $115 btw on Newegg. Or just borrow it from the interwebz, along with OSX :P Starcraft 2 is coming to mac too, so :)

    just sayin’

  • lil0egy0kid says:

    @bigstingman Well …
    @bigstingman Well you can always boot camp into windows and there you go! Steam is also on mac now and I personally the majority of PC games I play are on steam. The only thing holding me back on mac is the cost and using OSX not a fan of OSX. and dont want to add $200 to buy win 7 to an already very expensive machine.

  • bigstingman says:

    @lil0egy0kid I …
    @lil0egy0kid I would consider getting a Mac if they were capable of playing more games. :( I’m a hardcore gamer so that’s really one of the few things holding me back from picking up an Apple computer. I do agree, their battery life owns all.
